Patrick Ewing– Still sweaty after all these years

During his career as a player with the New York Knicks, Seattle Supersonics and the Orlando Magic, Patrick Ewing was known as one of the sweatiest players to ever play the game.  That trend has apparently continued as Mr. Ewing has transitioned into a coaching career as an assistant with the Orlando Magic.  “Oh man, he can still sweat,” says center Dwight Howard.  “He’ll run up and down the court with us a few times in practice and will be drenched.  It’s amazing to watch.”  Mr. Ewing says he is enjoying being a teacher and mentor to Orlando’s young athletes, but is the ability to sweat something he feels he can pass on? “Sweating is something you’re either born with or you’re not,” Mr. Ewing says.  “I can’t teach that.  All I can do is lead by example.”  Former Knick teammate John Starks said Ewing’s sweating always inspired the team.  “We’d by down by 10 points in the 4th quarter and I’d be on the bench and just see Patrick with sweat pouring off of him.  It was really inspiring and would always give us the lift we needed.”  With Orlando down 2-0 against the Lakers for the NBA championship, many behind the scenes are calling for Ewing to step up and help the team.  “If Patrick can show this team how much sweat it takes to win, they still have a shot in this series,” says one NBA analyst.
